the practice: a creativity incubator

The Practice

Three months to get back to your best thinking. Two seats: one founder; one lawyer.

The most valuable thing you bring to your work is how you think.

Not what you know. How you think: the question nobody else asked, the option that wasn't on the list, the moment you read the room and change course. That’s creativity, and for founders and lawyers it's the skill everything else depends on. It's what clients remember, what investors bet on, and the part of the work no one else can do for you.

Most of us were trained out of it. School, deadlines and "this is how it's done" reward getting it right, not seeing it new. The creativity doesn't go away. It gets buried under the noise.

There isn't one way back. For some people it's movement. For others it's music, breath, reading or a blank page. The Practice gives you three months, a small group of guides and protected time to find yours. We hold the space and the structure. You do the work you've been meaning to get back to.

Who it's for

  • One founder who is building something and knows their best ideas are on the other side of the noise.

  • One lawyer who is good at the work and wants to bring more of themselves to it: to clients, to strategy and to building a practice.

What you get.

  • Coaching with Rena Paul. Three sessions: an opening session to set your project, a midpoint and a close. Between them, Rena checks in, connecting what comes up to your real work.

  • Sessions with practitioners. Hour-long one-on-one sessions from a small roster of experts in movement, dance, training, breathwork, music therapy, yoga and more.

  • AI as a creative partner. Two working sessions on leveraging AI well to promote your creativity and execute your vision.

  • A reading list and a starter kit of practices to keep.

The three months.

  • Month one, Unlock. An opening session with Rena, then your first practitioner sessions. Notice where you're stuck and what opens you up.

Month two, Practice. Build a rhythm: sessions, reading, a daily practice.

Month three, Apply. Bring it into the work: the decision, the client, the product, the case. By the close, you'll see what changed in the project you started with, and leave with one practice that's yours to keep.

Why Rena

Rena Paul spent more than a decade in courtrooms, first as a sex crimes prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, then as a federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York. She left government service to build something of her own: one of the first trauma-informed law firms in the country. She's a Tory Burch Fellow, a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses alum, a certified yoga instructor and a longtime movement practitioner.

Her career has been spent reading people under pressure and asking the questions that change the story. She believes creativity is the skill that matters most now, and she knows from her own life that the way back to it runs through the body as much as the mind.
